Your Training options are the Mystery Training School or Swashbuckling Acadamy
here you cannot train your pet in strength (4x3=12...12 is less than 13) but you can train your pet in defence and movement. To be able to train your pet in strength you would have to increase its level first.
But do not increase your level just when you start out unless you must. Because once your level reaches a certain point (table is on the courses page of both training schools) it takes longer to train and you must pay more for each session...this was a mistake I made when i was a newbie. There are 10 different types of codestones. When you are asked to pay for your training, the school will pick which stones you need to pay with at random (there's no way I know of telling which stone it will as you to pay with before you start)
The Swashbuckling Acadamy is on Krawk Island and is the second training school. Here you pay with dubloons. Dubloons are more expensive but you only need one type..unlike codestones. The Acadamy also only trains your pet much slower than at the other school, and you can only train your pet until it reaches the 40 level point. Another negative thing with this is that you can't train your pets stat unless its less than 2 times its level as opposed to 3 times at the Mystery Training School
Here are the differents stats
Strength: This increases how much damage your pet can do in the BattleDome
Defence: This decreases how much hitpoints your pet loses in the BattleDome
Agility: This stat currently plays no part in the BattleDome but some day Neopets might make it do something
Endurance: This is how many hitpoints your pet has, which I think is that stat you should have be the highest
